Hello! Oh, and happy new year!

Hello! Oh, and happy new year!

Happy New Year

It’s been a while, I know ... totally my fault!

Truth be told, 2023 was a busy year, and quite frankly this blog took a bit of a backseat to say the least. But I’m all set to dive into blogging again! While posts may be shorter some months than others, blogging is something I love doing and so I’m eager to make time for it.

I’ve just finished my second week back to work, and as usual, it feels like the holidays were never here! However, returning to work or study doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom; remember that it’s ok to give yourself some time to adjust back to normality. I suppose for me, the past few weeks have been focused on what I want for 2024, so let me update you.

I decided to jump on the ‘one word’ trend for the new year! Have you seen it everywhere too? Well don’t worry if you’re scratching your head wondering what on earth I’m talking about, it’s all good – I’ll break it down for you.

The idea is that if we summarise our goals and intentions for the new year into one carefully chosen word it will be easier to remain focused. The word you choose will introduce a fresh outlook on how you navigate 2024. Sounds doable, right? Especially, if ‘new year’s resolutions’ never really work for you. We try, but somehow our goals get abandoned.

Ok, I know you’re just dying to know my word for the year, but I had to build some suspension ... it’s basic creative writing 101. I’m getting to my chosen word soon, I promise! When reflecting upon last year, I realised that in 2024, I wanted to step out of comfort zone and explore new possibilities, do new things.

So, the word I have chosen for this new year is leap, quite fitting I know with it being a leap year.

And I am ready to embrace the leap.

Now, I know that it is 12th of January, however it is not too late to pick your word for the year!

Let me give you some ideas to help you along. Perhaps you’ve had a busy and somewhat chaotic 2023, so why not choose rest or focus as your word for 2024? Or maybe you have a few bad habits or traits that you want to leave behind, so how about conquer or discipline. Give it a go! Choose your own word and let is serve as a reminder of what you want to achieve, who you want to be.

It has been so lovely catching up with you guys again, and I look forward to spending 2024 with you!
