Hello! Oh, and happy new year!

Hello! Oh, and happy new year!  It’s been a while, I know ... totally my fault! Truth be told, 2023 was a busy year, and quite frankly this blog took a bit of a backseat to say the least. But I’m all set to dive into blogging again! While posts may be shorter some months than others, blogging is something I love doing and so I’m eager to make time for it.   I’ve just finished my second week back to work, and as usual, it feels like the holidays were never here! However, returning to work or study doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom; remember that it’s ok to give yourself some time to adjust back to normality. I suppose for me, the past few weeks have been focused on what I want for 2024, so let me update you.    I decided to jump on the ‘one word’ trend for the new year! Have you seen it everywhere too? Well don’t worry if you’re scratching your head wondering what on earth I’m talking about, it’s all good – I’ll break it down for you.     The...

Hi, welcome to my new blog!

While some of you readers may already know lots about my life (thank you friends for joining me), I should introduce myself to all those who haven't had the pleasure of meeting me ... yet.

My name is Katie, and I am 23 years old, currently living in Belfast. I work as a Business Consultant at Pinnacle Growth Group and am studying a part-time Marketing MSc at Ulster University Belfast. I love hanging out with friends, travelling, eating out ... let’s be real, what the majority of people enjoy doing when they have the time/money to do so.

Now, some of you may be asking, why has Katie suddenly decided to write a blog? In fact, some of you may be surprised for you know that I am a relatively private person, especially online. Well, to be completely honest with you readers, I needed to create a blog in order to pass my university module, lol!

However, I could have chosen a random topic (glamorous hairstyles for work - like photo) and remained anonymous ... which would probably have been a lot less scary. But, when thinking about what my blog should look like, I found myself constantly drifting back to that period in my life where I’d just finished university and felt completely lost as to what to do next, or to when I was preparing to start my first graduate job and didn’t have a clue what to expect, and how encouraging it was to just chat to people going through similar life situations. Even now, I love to hear how others are navigating their world of work.

And so, I have decided to make my blog just this! A fun and comforting space where I can share my life experiences and updates as a young professional. It is my hope that we can laugh together, but also help each other make daunting and less enjoyable experiences a little easier to handle.

So, there you have it ... my big debut. I am excited to be on this journey with you as I take a huge step outside my comfort zone and share my experiences with you all. Watch this space.

Chat soon,

Katie x

  2. Hi Katie
I wish you all the best in your new blog. It's been many years since I graduated as a teacher, so it's interesting to see how life is for a new graduate now.
    Love, Linda (NZ)
